On passing through with my daughter, we popped in here for a bite to eat. The gentleman serving was so friendly, cheerful and full of smiles. A delightful welcome was given to us.
The chips were perfect. Fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The pie was super tasty and the sausage too.
There was a really nice area to dine in and in the summer months I imagine it is lovely to eat on the furniture provided outside, taking in the views there. The best chippy I have been to in some time.

Everything over cooked, had large battered sausage and chips, the battered sausage was like chewing on a baseball bat and don't get me started on the chips! This chippy has gone down hill in my opinion, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Had lunch from here today. Batter way to hard on the sausage, chips overcooked tasted burnt. Batter wouldn't have been that bad if they had remembered to put the gravy in the bag that I ordered and paid for, surprised it was forgotten as lady on the counter was given instructions on how to wrap it, I wasn't able to go back foe the gravy.

Food is nice when you get to eat it when its warm the last couple of times I've been there for food get home to eat and there is somethink always missing so got to go back to the chippy to pick it up from the chippy by the time you get home the food is cold I won't be going back sick of it paying good money for cold food

Spectacular chips and a REALLY good sausage with excellent batter. Searing hot and ready quickly. £14 for sausage and chips twice with cheese and 2 pots of curry sauce. Make a trip. 😄👌👍

Lovely freshly cooked chips and the fish is beautifully battered and crispy, very delicious. The staff were also very friendly too.

Visited Crisp and Fry in Pontyates under new management.
Fabulous meal chips were tasty, fresh and thickly cut.
Seating area was clean and comfortable.
Customer service was quick, pleasant, polite and refreshing. And served Heinz ketchup which is the best.

Stumbled across this chippy on my way to west wales today . WOW the food was very good one of the best chip shops I’ve ever had . Fresh soft bread roll with crispy chips and light crispy battered sausage. Unfortunately i don’t pass this way often but if i do i will definitely call in . Shame you had no hot chocolate but the latte was good 5 stars cant fault you .

Pleasantly surprised the cheese rissoles were huge, and the Irish curry sauce was amazing! Highly recommend this eatery 😀
